The Namaqualand region, together with the Northern Cape Tourism Authority, closed Heritage Month by embracing their authenticity.
Many who took part felt it was important to continue sharing and re-telling their ancient stories to the younger generation. Victor Barbery from the Northern Tourism Authority says the event was to celebrate with the people of Namakwa.
“The Northern Cape Tourism authority decided to bring this event to Namaqualand, to celebrate with the people of Namakwa the diverse cultures we do have in the Namakwa region, and they actually felt that it’s very important to come this way, especially on the occasion of having tourism migrate to a more digital platform”.
